About Mildred's Coffeehouse

Mildred's baristas and cooks have fed and caffeinated hordes of folks over the last 18 years. Mildred's Coffeehouse is one of the few remaining family owned and operated coffee and food establishments in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

In 1994, Mildred's opened it's first location in Downtown Overland Park. Sharing tables and hanging out on the patio was commonplace there, naturally setting the scene for new friendships, many of which remain pals even now. This classic neighborhood coffee joint was known for its quirky bohemian environment, friendly neighbor-like service, and of course great coffee and food. Sadly, Mildred's Coffeehouse lost it's lease at this location in 2006.

In 1997 Mildred's on Main became the second location in the Kansas City area to bear the Mildred's name. Located in the heart of the business district of downtown Kansas City Missouri, this coffeehouse serves breakfast, lunch, and coffee/espresso drinks to business people from all over downtown. It is located just one block away from the Power and Light district on the first floor of the AMC building at 920 Main.

Mildred's in the Crossroads opened its doors as the third Mildred's Coffeehouse in May of 2004 in the popular and growing Crossroads Art District at 19th and Wyandotte. Mildred's in the Crossroads offers a spacious, cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating, couches, and a great coffee bar area. Just like any other Mildred's location, you will find a menu full of delicious breakfast and lunch items, as well as an extensive coffee/espresso menu to keep you perked up all day! Stop in during the lunch hours for full table service from one of our smiling wait staff.

Our crossroads location participates in "First Fridays" art exhibitions. On the first Friday evening of every month, the Crossroads Community's art galleries, studios, and restaurants open their doors to showcase local and national artists. Much like the already established First Friday’s of Phoenix and Houston, Kansas City’s version hosts a free evening of art entertainment where people gather to enjoy local and national art, the company of others, and great coffee. Sign up for our newsletter to learn about our daily lunch specials and to read about our artist of the month!

We are confident you will love your experience at either of our locations. Just ask your friends! :)
